New Labour Old Spin

Reading Mark Pack post on LibDem Voice (LibDem Vosice is the Libdem attempt to do a conservativehome) on a survey of local election candidates from the June 2009 campaign by the Electoral Commission. It figures out stuff like which party telephone canvassing more and who spent more hours a week campaigning.
What this show as we all kind of knew is that Conservatives morale is high and Labour is low. But what is interesting is that less Labour members are going out campagigning and the ones who do go out do not stay that long in the field. So if the Labour members are not going out to campagigne you can probably take that Labour supporters will not bother to vote and Labour traditional vote will take its vote else where (BNP) if the vote at all.

The thing which most took my eye is that "Labour candidates were the most likely to have contacted the media (44%, with 31% for the Lib Dems and 20% for the Conservatives)." This shows that Labour, who struggling in the field and  in there nationale image, go back and do what they know best, spin, spin, spin. The Malcolm Tucker (the thick of it),Alastair Campbell and Damian McBride of the world take local and nationale news by storm and force them to spin the ban news, which is the labour party, to something else.
